Francesco 🇮🇹 🎣

Born and raised in Italy, where my passion for the sea started early. That curiosity led me to dedicate my career to studying fish populations and the sustainable use of our seas, specializing in fish population dynamics and stock assessment.

My journey has taken me from the Adriatic Sea, where I completed my PhD on fisheries management, to the Baltic Sea, where I explored how fishing and environmental change affect marine life.

I enjoy playing guitar and foraging for mushrooms in the forest.

At Terramare Fjord & Gård, I bring science, nature, and community together through eco-tourism and citizen science experiences that invite others to discover the beauty of the sea. 

Astrid 🇳🇴 🌱

Born and raised in Norway, with deep roots in a farming family. Farming is my foundation, and I continue this tradition while weaving it into our shared vision of nature, science, and community.

Before turning to science, I was a pastry chef. Later, my curiosity for nature took me to seabird colonies across Scandinavia, where I studied the everyday lives of several seabirds. I completed a PhD on fish–seabird interactions, exploring how these top predators connect with the marine environment.

I love baking cakes and expressing my creativity through painting and woodcarving.

At Terramare Fjord & Gård, I combine farming, science, and art to offer guests unique experiences that celebrate the fjord in all its richness.
